WTA Ranking Update: Iga Swiatek passes Justine Henin in latest milestone as Emma Navarro on the verge of top 10 debut
With the US Open upon us on Monday, the WTA Ranking has been updated for the final time ahead of the showpiece as Iga Swiatek hits another milestone. Linda Noskova and Emma Navarro also continue their rise.
Swiatek is the imperious World No.1 and will likely hit the next mark of 121 weeks held by her predecessor aside from Aryna Sabalenka’s short stint at the top held by Ashleigh Barty. But she passes Justine Henin today for eighth most weeks as World No.1 in WTA Rankings history.
She will also spend her 118th and 119th weeks as World No.1 in New York. She goes into proceedings with a massive 2,679 point lead as World No.1. She has 10,695 points compared to 8,016 and 6,743 for Sabalenka and Gauff. Those players also have to defend heavy points hauls at the US Open.
