President Donald Trump has made a wild allegation after a ‘somewhat’ friendly phone call with Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau.

The American and Canadian leaders have been embroiled in a bitter war of words after Trump implemented staggering tariffs, which have now been reciprocated amid other alarming threats.

On Wednesday, Trump, who gave Trudeau a savage nickname, revealed interesting details of his conversation with Trudeau in two Truth Social posts.

Trump wrote: “Justin Trudeau, of Canada, called me to ask what could be done about Tariffs. I told him that many people have died from Fentanyl that came through the Borders of Canada and Mexico, and nothing has convinced me that it has stopped.

“He said that it’s gotten better, but I said, “That’s not good enough.” The call ended in a “somewhat” friendly manner! ”

Trump then started delving into a bizarre theory that Trudeau is trying to cling onto power.

The President continued: “He was unable to tell me when the Canadian Election is taking place, which made me curious, like, what’s going on here? I then realized he is trying to use this issue to stay in power. Good luck Justin!”

Minutes later, Trump added: “For anyone who is interested, I also told Governor Justin Trudeau of Canada that he largely caused the problems we have with them because of his Weak Border Policies, which allowed tremendous amounts of Fentanyl, and Illegal Aliens, to pour into the United States. These Policies are responsible for the death of many people!”

After a month of stalling, Trump imposed 25% tariffs on nearly all goods imported from Mexico and Canada on Tuesday.

In addition, a 10% duty was added to Canadian energy products, with Ontario’s premier vowing to ‘cut off’ U.S. electricity exports in retaliation.

In a press conference on Tuesday morning, hours after Trump’s tariffs went into effect, targetting Canada, Mexico, and China, Trudeau lashed out at Trump.

He told cameras: “Donald, they point out that even though you are a very smart guy, this is a very dumb thing to do.”

“Today the United States launched a trade war against Canada, their closest partner and ally, and their closest friend. At the same time, they’re talking about working positively with Russia, appeasing Vladimir Putin, a lying, murderous dictator. Make that make sense,” Trudeau angrily added.

“Canadians are reasonable and we are polite but we will not back down from a fight, not when our country and the well being of everyone in it is at stake,” Trudeau continued, hours after he added his country would slap tariffs on more than $100 billion of American goods over the course of 21 days.
