Prince Harry ‘devastated’ by Kate Middleton cancer news as he ‘reaches out in private’

Prince Harry is said to have been left devastated by the news Princess Kate has cancer.

It’s the latest health issue to rock the royal family following King Charles’ own cancer diagnosis. Kate’s announcement reportedly left her brother-in-law feeling devastated according to a royal expert who said “time will tell” whether the Duke of Sussex will return to visit Kate.

Royal commentator Richard Fitzwilliams opened up on the relationship Kate and Harry used to share prior to their family feud. He said Harry would always call her “Cath” and claim she was the “sister I never had”.

That is why he believes Harry will be gutted by the latest news and decided to reach out privately. Talking to Mail Online, Fitzwilliams said: “Whether he comes to the UK to visit Kate, time will tell.”

However, such a move is ill advised according to biographer and historian Hugo Vickers who told the publication Harry should stay stateside for the time being. He said: “People ask if Prince Harry is going to come back and help them out, but I think that would be very counterproductive.”

It’s thought Harry reached out to the Princess of Wales away from the public eye after finding out her cancer diagnosis. ITV’s royal editor Chris Ship said the Duke of Sussex made contact with his brother William to ask about Kate.

Taking to X/Twitter, Ship said: “Prince Harry has reached out to his brother, Prince William after learning of Kate’s cancer. Harry and Meghan have both been in touch with their brother/sister-in-law but did so privately. It not clear if that was a phone/video call or some messages of support.”

This claim comes shortly after the Sussexes shared a statement regarding their sister-in-law’s cancer diagnosis. Meghan and Harry, who are believed to have found out about Kate’s cancer when the rest of the world did, shared a message that read: “We wish health and healing for Kate and the family, and hope they are able to do so privately and in peace.”

Kate’s announcement landed on Friday evening as she said: “It has been an incredibly tough couple of months for our entire family, but I’ve had a fantastic medical team who have taken great care of me, for which I am so grateful.”
